Suspect Herdsmen In Fresh Attack In Benue, Kills 11

In spite of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to find an end to the senseless killings going on around the country, suspected herdsmen yet again struck Tombu village in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State killing 11 people.

The state governor, Mr Samuel Ortom, confirmed the renewed killings to Channels Television shortly after an emergency meeting with the joint socio-cultural groups in the state.

The governor commended the deployment of additional military and police to the state but he lamented that more than 40,000 people have been displaced for fear of unprovoked attacks.

The police are yet to confirm this attack.
