Suspected Boko Haram Member Arrested In Germany

A suspected member of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist sect was arrested far away in Germany on Wednesday.

The man identified as Amaechi Fred O., 27, was arrested on Wednesday in Bavaria and was issued an arrest warrant from a judge who also ordered that he was remanded in custody.

“He is strongly suspected of being a member of the foreign terrorist organization Boko Haram,” the statement said.

He is said to have joined the group in 2013 and has openly admitted to actively taking part in four attacks against Nigerian civilians during his one-year membership in Boko Haram.

Boko Haram has killed well over 15, 000 people in Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad, kidnapping women and children and displacing millions since it began its insurgency in 2009.
