2 Teenage Female Suicide Bombers Died In Failed Attack On A Maiduguri Mosque

Two teenage female suicide bombers blew themselves up outside a mosque in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital earlier today.

The bombers attempted to sneak into a mosque at Jiddari area of Maiduguri while worshippers were observing the early morning prayers on Wednesday, but were chased away by vigilant residents.

Explosives strapped to their bodies went off as they fell down at Jiddari Primary School while fleeing the area, residents say.

The incident occurred at about 5:08 a.m. Wednesday, spokesman, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Northeast Zone, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, said in a statement.

“The two female suicide bombers attempted to enter one of the mosques in area but were repelled by the CJTF who understand their motive, this made them to detonate the IED vest.
