Religion, Ethnicity Used by Politicians Oppress and Divide The Society – Osinbajo

0

Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has said that in too many instances, leaders drawn from different areas of the national life have tried to use religion and ethnicity to cause division in a bid to attain political and selfish ends.

According to information from a press statement which was signed by his senior special assistant (media), Laolu Akande, he noted that Nigerians who believe in pursuing the good of the nation must come together with the Buhari led administration in order to fight against evil and those who perpetrate it in the country.

‘‘those Nigerians of the new tribe are those who believe in truth, honesty and justice among other virtues that advance the right course for the country.’’

“This new Nigeria must be based on love for each other and must value integrity.’’ He added.

He also explained that Christians have to love those who hate them and despitefully use them, and even have to pray for their enemies.

According to Osinbajo, those who have been stealing from and looting the nation’s coffers are drawn from all ethnicity and faiths, but are united in their quest to steal.

“When they are stealing the nation’s money they are completely united,” the vice president noted.

…Mothers Are On The Verge Of Extinction- Mrs Osinbajo

In another development, the wife of the vice president, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, following reports of various abuses women and girls are going through to in the country, yesterday raised alarm that Nigerian women were on the verge of extinction.

She made the remark while delivering her speech during the celebration of this year’s Mother’s Day at the Aso Villa Chapel, Abuja.

Mrs Osinbajo, who acknowledged that the girls of today are mothers of tomorrow, said they were no longer safe in the country as they are being sexually abused, abducted and killed.

She urged parents to always watch over their children, especially the girls.

“What do you teach them because they cannot give what they don’t have? The mothers of tomorrow cannot be mothers if they don’t have what it takes.”

Mrs Osinbajo, however, saluted the strength of mothers.

“I thank God for what mothers do; they take care of the child and train the child. I thank God for the joy mothers bring. I pray for more grace, wisdom and more strength for all mothers,” she said.
