All hail to the Queen! Beyonce celebrated turning 35 on Sept. 4 and it was celebration galore in the United States and beyond, with celebrities fighting to outdo each others in their rendition on happy birthday messages on twitter and other social media.
Bey Day, as it’s known, is an unofficial holiday for the BeyHive, her legions of fans. Some clubs celebrated last night with themed drinks, an all-Beyonce playlist and “Lemonade” on the monitors. Last year, fans started a White House petition to declare September 4 a national holiday.
It didn’t quite meet the requirements, but you can still find it online. The petition suggests fans can celebrate in many ways, including, quote, “reminding those around them that they woke up like this.”
The inimitable Beyoncé, who reigns supreme over the music industry, once again affirms her iconic stature as arguably the most popular celebrity in the world at such momentous occasion at hand, the collective forces of the internet took a moment to wish “happy birthday” to the one and only Queen Bey.
Beyoncé can’t stop sharing the love even on her birthday! The “Formation” singer celebrated her 35th birthday on Sunday by surprising fans with the release of her Lemonade track “Hold Up” on YouTube.
The video, which was previously only available to Tidal subscribers, premiered in April as part of her new LP’s visual album, but now every fan can watch it on repeat online.
Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey, Arsenio Hall, DJ Khaled, Simone Biles and many more celebrities chimed in on the social media to wish “Queen B” a happy birthday!
