To what end is the ceaseless attempts by Boko Haram to carry out attacks on the University of Maiduguri despite its numerous failure in recent. Yet again, it tried to cause mayhem and death at the citadel of learning by attacking the institution’s female hostel.
Three male suicide-bombers were killed while attempting to carry out their evil act. One of those killed is said to be carrying an AK 47 gun. At least two bombs exploded during the attack.
On the casualty, an emergency worker involved in the evacuation said that:
“Four security men in the university, including volunteers were treated for injury they sustained as no life was lost except the killed suicide bombers.”
The corpses have been evacuated by workers from the federal and Borno emergency agencies, NEMA and BOSEMA.
Suicide bombers have in 2017 tried to carry out repeated attacks on the University of Maiduguri. One of the attacks led to the death of a university professor.
The Student Union President of University of Maiduguri, Comrade Abu Hanifa Babati has also confirmed the attack on the institution. According to him, the second one occurred around BOT Hostel which is a female hostel. The first one occurred around the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
