The holy month of Ramadan has lost its sanctity. A month when true Muslims are expected to be best behaviour, pious and generous. A month when we are supposed to be our brother’s keeper rather. we are our brother’s killer. From Nigeria to Afghanistan, Britain to Iran its dirge that rent the air instead of the music of joy and merriment. As we wake up to the news of the terror attack at Finsbury Park mosque in London so also is the news of five female suicide bombers who killed 12 people and wounded 11 in Borno state, northeast of Nigeria.
The use of suicide bomber is a modus operandi of Boko Haram even though they’ve not claimed responsibility.
Borno state police spokesman Victor Isuku said the attacks occurred on Sunday at around 08:30 p.m. in the village of Kofa, 8 km (5 miles) from the state capital Maiduguri. “The first suicide bomber detonated near a mosque, killing seven persons. The second detonated in a house killing five persons,” he said, adding that 11 people hurt in the attacks. Isuku said the other three bombers also died.
The terrorist group on June 7 killed 14 people in bombings and shootings in Maiduguri.
In past, warring factions will embrace truce in the month of Ramadan but not this crazy infidels who called themselves Muslims , their quest for blood and mayhem got notched up. This is a group that said it’s planning to create an Islamic caliphate in the northeast. Terrorism in whatever for or shape must be defeated.
