Its no secret that Boko Haram appetite for blood gives no preference to any religion, in fact, the Islamic terrorist group have focused their attacks on mosques in the past two years as it once again attacked worshippers at a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State earlier today killing dozens.
The explosion occurred at the mosque when worshippers are preparing to pray on Tuesday was triggered by a teenage boy suicide bomber
Adamawa State Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Press and Media Affairs, Martins Dickson, described the incident as “an act of wickedness perpetrated by criminals who are bent on destroying the hard earned peace in Mubi and other parts of the state.”
“We will continue to ensure that our people are protected and given a sense of security which is the most important responsibility of any government.
“We have also engaged all security agencies to ensure that this type of wicked act does not repeat itself in any part of the state.”
“The bomb blast is undoubtedly a setback to the peace and calm that had returned to Mubi which was destroyed by Boko Haram,” he said.
The state government also assured to give free medical treatment to those injured. An official working with the International Rescue Committee, Emma Adasolid, among the first responders at the scene said about 40 dead bodies were evacuated.
