Four expatriate workers – two Canadians and two Americans – were on Tuesday abducted in Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State while they were returning to Abuja from Kafanchan after the inspection of a project being handled by their company.
The two police officers who were attached to them to provide security were killed in a shootout with the kidnappers. Police authorities confirmed that the policemen, a sergeant and a corporal died on the spot.
Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna State, ASP Mukhtar Hussain Aliyu, said the police would do everything possible to rescue the abducted men.
He said relevant units of the force had been deployed to the place to work on the matter.
