Babachir Lawal, the sacked Secretary to the Federal Government has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with the fraudulent award of a grass cutting contract to his firm.
Babachir was removed as the SGF by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 following allegations that he diverted funds intended for the internally displaced persons, IDPs in the North-east Nigeria.
Babachir is detained in Abuja at the headquarters of EFCC to face interrogation.
