Bandits Abducted 40 Travellers In Kaduna

Bandits who are carrying out nefarious activities in Kaduna State seems not to be deterred by all the moves of the government to improve the security situation of the state as no less than 40 persons were have been abducted along the Birnin-Gwari – Kaduna Highway this week.

The incident was reported to have taken place between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Birnin Gwari branch, Danladi Duniya, confirmed the abduction of the travellers to journalists on phone.

According to him, the victims were abducted on Wednesday while traveling in three Golf vehicles from Birnin-Gwari to Kano. Each vehicle was conveying seven passengers each, Duniya said.

The NURTW chairman also disclosed that about 17 people were kidnapped along Kwanan Dutse on Tuesday.

Duniya said the Tuesday incident involved a Sharon bus carrying many passengers.
