The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sansui II, on Saturday said the multiple blasts that rocked Kano Central Mosque on Friday, killing over 100 worshipers, will not diminish the faith of muslim faithfuls in the state.
“We will never be intimidated into abandoning our religion, which is the intention of the attackers,” he said. The Emir, who spoke shortly after returning from Saudi Arabia said he has directed that the mosque be washed and cleaned and prayers should continue in the mosque. “From all indications, they (attackers) have been planning this for at least two months,” Sanusi said as he arrived at the mosque straight from the airport, adding that “I have directed that the mosque be washed and cleaned and prayers should continue there.
