No More A General

President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari and his vice president-elect will from May 29 be addressed as Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo respectively.

Spokesman of the Buhari campaign organization Mallam Garba ‎Shehu in a statement on Sunday unveiled the official portrait of the president-elect and his vice-president-elect, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

 ‎”From May 29, 2015 the President-elect and Vice-President-elect are to be respectively known and addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said in a statement.

Buhari retired from the army as Major General in 1985 and title of General has been part of his name since but as a President, he will be going without the ‘General’ as a prefix to his name.
