Within a twinkle of an eye, joy is suddenly engulfed in gloom and sorrow as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate of the Kogi State governorship election, Alhaji Abubakar Audu who was leading in the election, is dead.
He died Sunday afternoon from what was believed to be a cardiac arrest. Sources said he started vomiting blood and could not be resuscitated. He shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared his victory at the elections inconclusive.
Prince Audu would be buried on Monday according to Islamic rites.
