Against all expectations, the much anticipated attendance of President Muhammadu Buhari to preside of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting today did not come to fruition.
This is the fourth consecutive FEC meeting that the president will be missing. Speculations has been rife over the president’s health since he returned from London in March where he went for treatment.
His sudden resumption of office yesterday led to the assumption that he will preside over the FEC meeting today. His absence was confirmed this in a tweet, which said: “The Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting has started. Vice President @ProfOsinbajo is presiding.”
The FEC is the highest decision making organ of the government consisting of the president, his vice and ministers.
