Boko Haram kingpin Disguised As ‘Cowboy’, Arrested En route Lagos

Jarasu Shira, a Boko Haram kingpin who operates in the Damboa, Chibok and Askira axis of Borno State, has been arrested at a motor park in Damboa.

Shira, also known as Jarido, was arrested at about 8:30am on Wednesday, alongside 10 other suspected Boko Haram members.

Shira alias Jarido is number one on the new list of wanted men by the Nigeria military and was disguised in a cowboy outfit when nabbed, reports say.

The 10 others were reported to have escorted him to the Damboa motor park to board a vehicle to Biu, with the ultimate destination being Lagos.

They Boko Haram insurgents were apprehended by men of the Civilian Joint Task Force, who are collaborating with the Nigerian Army in the war against Boko Haram.

Shira is reported to be the leader of the Boko Haram in Damboa, Chibok and Askira Uba local government areas of Borno state.
