It is erroneous and blatantly unfair to categorize all Nigerians as corrupt. Just like in every nations of the world, there are good, honest people as well as dishonest and corrupt ones. Nigeria shouldn’t be deemed an exception.

Many Nigerians are honest and decent human beings, such as Mr. Joseph Akilo, an employee of the Aviation Logistics and Management Limited (ALML) who returned the sum of $3338 he found even though his salary is a meagre N30,000 ($90).

“After the closure of the flight, we were about packing when I discovered two envelopes on the floor. Immediately I sighted the envelopes, I picked them and discovered that it contained dollars. I thereafter sealed the envelopes back and ran into the toilet. After the calculation, I discovered that one of the envelopes contained 3,000 dollars, while the other contained 338 dollars, making a total of 3,338 dollars (equivalent to N1,218,370). I also discovered a ticket attached with a name which gave an indication that it belonged to a passenger on Virgin Atlantic,” he narrated.

He revealed that he is a “profiler who acts as a customer liaison officer, who profiles passengers’ documents especially those travelling outside the country.

“The  company honoured me with a letter of commendation and a token,” he said.

For his exemplary behaviour, Mr. Akilo who is also a pastor with Fountain of Hosanna Church of Christ was celebrated by his church.

Speaking, the General Overseer, Pastor Kehinde Abiodun said the event was a great testimony to the nation and to the people of Christ.

“He is one of our pastors. I have been preaching and continue to preach to people that it is the righteous that exalt a nation and that we should practise holiness and righteousness everywhere we are and this is a perfect example of what we preach.

“It is important that all businessmen and critical stakeholders learn from this act of honesty, and consequently the country will be great again,” he said.
