In an effort to find joint solution to the economic recession in the country, the National Assembly has resolved to invite President Muhammadu Buhari to brief it on what his administration is planning to redress the situation.
The House of Representatives had early passed a resolution on September 22 inviting President Buhari to explain to the legislature his plans to deal with the economic recession. The Senate resolution was a sequel to that of the house.
Putting the question before the lawmakers to either kill or pass the motion , President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki said, “Distinguished colleagues that the senate do concur with the House of Representatives resolution on an invitation of Mr. President Commander in Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to address a joint session of the National Assembly to intimate it on plans to get the country out of the recession.”
Though no definite date and time upon which the President and Commander in Chief is to appear before the joint session has been stated.
