The federal government through the National Broadcasting Corporation has suddenly woken from a protracted slumber by banning Olamide’s ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level’, Davido’s ‘Fall’ and ‘If’ remix and also, 9ice’s ‘Living Things’
The ban on Wo is coming after the the Federal Ministry of Health vehemently expressed displeasure saying the video encourages second-hand smoking and that it violated the Tobacco Control Act 2015.
In 2016, NBC also banned, ‘Don’t Stop’ which is a track off Olamide’s 5th studio album, Eyan Mayweather, for its vulgar lyrics.
In june this year, Falz condemned 9ice’s ‘Living Things’ for glamorizing fraud.
The NBC needs to step up the game and rid the airwaves of ‘dirty’ songs and videos.
