Lagos, NIGERIA: Leaders of the Lagos Island chapter of the African Women Honors and Empowerment had an EmpowerHer brunch in celebration of the International Women’s day on Wednesday March 8th 2017 at Otres Restaurant in Lekki with 3 very accomplished Women, Chief Mrs Elizabeth Agom, the former Director of Finance at the Nigerian Airspace Management Authority; Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye of Nike Art Gallery, a prominent global arts icon; and Nigerian female football star, Ebi Onome of the Super Falcons.

It was such an inspiring experience to have such caliber of women around to share their wealth of experience with the chapter leaders. These extraordinary women and trailblazers in their individual fields, were honored by the executives of the organization for their exceptional contribution to society. The owner of Otres restaurant, Orode Okpu was also celebrated at this Women’s day event for her exceptional business acumen.

On behalf of the executive leaders, Elizabeth Okogun and Bukky Ashafa thanked the women for their courage and for being a role model for many young women. Everyone left the ceremony with zeal to do more for underprivileged women and girls. The organization has over 30 chapters in Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and America.
