It seems the long wait for President muhammadu Buhari to return from his medical hibernation in London might be near. The President who is suffering from an undisclosed ailment has spent the better part of this year receiving treatment in London.
“I feel I could go home, but the doctors are in charge.” “I’ve now learnt to obey orders, rather than be obeyed.” These are according to statement signed by the the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina
The President added that there had been a “tremendous improvement” in his health. The statement was issued after the President was visited by his media team led by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture included Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity; Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, and Lauretta Onochie, Personal Assistant on Digital/Online Media. Also, there was Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters.
Photos released by the presidency show the 74-year-old standing outdoors in sunglasses and smiling as he holds a “Get well soon” card.
The visit might be a calculated efforts to douse the momentum of the protest of Nigerians calling on the President to resume or resign. No definite date is given on the President’s return.
