President Goodluck Jonathan and the president-elect, retired General Muhammad Buhari, met behind closed doors at the State House, Abuja, yesterday. The meeting, which security officials said was strictly private, took place at the New Banquet Hall of Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
It was the first time Buhari of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and Jonathan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would meet after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) certified the former head of state as the winner of last Saturday’s presidential election.
A source hinted that Buhari and Jonathan discussed the transition programme during the meeting.
