Former President Goodluck Jonathan was in the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja yesterday for a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting between the two leaders took place behind closed doors at the new banquet hall, though details of their discussions were not immediately known. The former president arrived the Villa at about 2.00 pm and left at 2.13pm. It would be recalled that Jonathan was mandated to lead the Commonwealth Election Observer Group to Tanzania for its general election.
The former President was accompanied by his Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Dr. Dudaffah, arrived at exactly 2.00 p.m. chauffeur-driven in a Range Rover with a Prado Jeep back up. And by exactly 10 minutes later, at 2.10 p.m., he emerged from the meeting with Buhari, with the latter accompanying him to his waiting van.
None of the two leaders spoke to the media before Jonathan’s car zoomed off. This would be the second time the former President would visit the Presidential Villa to meet with Buhari since he assumed office on May 29.
