Nigerian Army Stormed Tompolo Hide-Out, Arrest 7

The Nigerian Army took the battle against the Niger Delta militants to the suspected hide out of former militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) in Oporoza community, Warri South-West council area of Delta state on Saturday.

Tompolo is wanted on allegation of fraudulent activities to the tune of over N40 billion and he has refused to show up in court to answer to charges against him.

The Nigerian Military disclosed that it has arrested seven suspects during the operation and recovered several explosives, arms and ammunition.

The report also said that the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Pulo Shield attacked a place known as ‘Tompolo’s location’ at about 2:30am, made some arrests and recovered some explosives, various caliber of arms and ammunition.

Also a previous operation by the military, on Friday, led to the arrest of a person suspected to be among those that carried out several attacks on oil installations in the region.
