Nigeria duo, Asisat Oshoala and Desire Oparanozie had their individual efforts rewarded after powering the Super Falcons to a record extending seventh title.
The two were on target each in the first half as Nigeria beat Cameroon 2-0 in the final match of the TN Mobile 9th African Women Championship (AWC) on Saturday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the Namibian capital Windhoek.
Oparanozie broke the deadlock on 12 minutes for her fifth goal of the tournament before Oshoala doubled the lead just before half time to seal victory for the West Africans.
With five goals, Oparanozie received the ‘Scorpion Zinc’ Top Scorer award for scoring the most goals at the two-week championship whilst Oshoala, went away with the ‘TN Mobile’ Best Player award for the Most Valuable Player.
Cameroon goalie, Annette Ngo Ndom took consolation in the ‘Air Namibia’ Best Goalkeeper award. South Africa’s Banyana Banyana claimed the CAF Fair Play award.
