Osinbajo Submits Investigative Report On SSG, DG NIA To President Buhari

The panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari on April 19 to investigate the allegation of corruption against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the huge amount discovered at an apartment in Lagos claimed by the Director-General of National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ayo Oke, has finally submitted its report.

The panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has the the National Security Adviser, General Babagana Monguno (rtd) and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, as members.

After submitting the report to the President, the Vice President told State House correspondents that Buhari needs time to study the report as “the report is very voluminous and very detailed.”

Babachir was investigated for allegedly awarding millions of naira contracts to a company in which he had interest, Global Vision Limited, under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).
Oke was probed for alleged $43.4 million operations cash found by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at apartment 7B in Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos. He had reportedly claimed that the money belonged to the NIA and was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan for some covert operations.
