Presidency Debunked Payment Of Ransom For The Release Of 21 Chibok Girls

0

The Presidency has debunked reports going round that it pay ransom for the release of the 21 of the over 200 abducted Chibok school girls by Boko Haram.

It emphasized that the successes it recorded in its fight against terrorism have been a result of collaboration between our country’s various security agencies, particularly the Department of State Services, the Police, the Civil Defense, Air Force, the Navy and the Army. Representatives from these arms of our security agencies were also involved in the process of the release of the 21 Chibok girls.

It is, therefore, unfair and reckless of any medium to quote unnamed, allegedly disgruntled sources within the military, who now claim that the girls’ release has reinvigorated Boko Haram.

It urges the public to disregard the report suggesting that the Chibok girls were release after ransom was paid
