The Chairman of the Federal Government Transition Committee and Vice President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo has assured the incoming administration that members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) would always be available to provide clarification or answer to any query arising from its handover notes.
Sambo gave the assurance in Abuja yesterday during a meeting of the joint transition committees, when copies of the handover notes were presented to the Chairman of the transition committee of the incoming administration, and former Permanent Secretary, Ahmed Joda.
The submission of the reports came on the heels of the persistent claims by the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the outgoing administration had largely remained uncooperative with the in coming administration regarding the details of the hand over notes to the government in the waiting.
According to Sambo, the report comprises the activities of the Federal Government between 2011 and 2015, adding: “The handover notes of the Federal Government of Nigeria of this administration between 2011 and 2015 have been properly articulated and printed.
“The permanent secretaries of each ministry have signed each page of this report to authenticate it and it is our pleasure to present it to you and pray that it will guide you, guide the incoming administration towards the achievement of positive objectives, development and progress of Nigeria. “
And I want to add that all of us are always available, after this report between now and May 29, anytime you need to meet with us we are ready to come and sit and clarify. All the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) will also be ready to meet with you, give you any additional clarifications that you would want to have on this report that we are presenting.’’
The vice-president, therefore, thanked the members of the two transitions for their support and contributions. In his remarks, after collecting the documents, Joda described the handover notes as “comprehensive” assuring that his committee would examine the report before making the final submission to the incoming Buhari’s administration.
His words: “It is my honour and privilege to receive this comprehensive set of the report from the government transition committee which was chaired by Sambo. It appears that nothing has been left out. It is now our challenge to give careful study and examination of what is contained in it. He said it was duty bound on the part of his committee to ensure continuity in government and governance, for the general progress of the nation.
