Players of the Super Falcons received $18,000 each, for emerging winners of the African Women Championship. The Nigerian ladies beat Cameroon 2-0 in the final played last Saturday, to lift the trophy for a record seventh time in Windoek, Namibia.
General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Amadu, has now revealed their rewards which were handed to them at a ministerial reception for the team in Abuja. “We are obviously very proud of these girls,” Musa stated. “For the group stage matches, the girls got $3000 each. “They got $4000 for winning the semifinals and $5000 for lifting the cup. So all together they got $18,000 bonus outside their camp allowances.”
