A trigger happy police officer simply named as Prince, on Tuesday evening shot dead a 52-year-old woman, while allegedly chasing some criminals at railway area of Mushin, Lagos State.
The victim, who was identified as Kudirat Adebayo, popularly called Mama Shaki, died on the spot as a result of the bullet wounds she sustained. She was shot on the head.
The deceased, according to eyewitnesses, was a petty trader and mother of four, who was frying yam cake, popularly known as Ojojo, at railway area of the tollgate in Mushin, when she was hit by a stray bullet. A number of people were also injured including another victim, who happens to be a commercial motorcycle operator, was also hit by stray bullet.
ARM gathered that some policemen attached to the Olosan division had on Tuesday trailed a suspected fraudster also known as Yahoo boy to the Tollgate area of Mushin.
The suspect was said to have resisted arrest and mobilized his friends, who attacked the cops. The policemen reportedly called for reinforcement from the division. The new police team deployed in the scene was said to have opened fire to disperse the attackers.

However, a stray bullet allegedly hit the victim in the head while she prepared to fry ‘Ojojo’ for her customers around 6pm. She died on the spot.
The deceased body has been deposited at Isolo General Hospital mortuary. Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said investigations were ongoing, adding that some of the policemen had been arrested
