Truck’s Container Falls Off Ojuelegba Bridge, Crushed Cars

0

Its sad day in Lagos as innocent lives were lost when a container skidded off the Ojuelegba bridge and landed on two private cars, crushing occupants in the vehicles.

The police and the road safety must take full responsible for this unsavoury incidence. The road and traffic laws in our stature books are hardly implemented nor enforced, especially concerning truck conveying container and gasoline. The safety of other road users are never considered.

Most containers being conveyed on our roads are never fastened to the truck with hooks, chains or clips. As President Muhammadu Buhari’s put his search light on correcting the wrongs inherent in the system, he better include the strict implementation of our road laws. The police and road safety  are practically doing nothing, much emphasis is placed on the collection of bribes.

I quite agree that accident can happen but i’m disgusted when lives are needlessly lost due to lack of diligence, non-adherence to road laws and our lackadaisical attitude. According to Daily Times,  truck had earlier this morning fallen at Ijora road, but was uploaded again only to cause havock and death at Ojuelegba.

There’s been countless number of truck accidents in Lagos and other parts of the country. Some weeks back, an accident occurred involving a fuel tanker and a trailer along Ikorodu road, Lagos. A fuel tanker carrying petroleum product was involved in an accident at Mobil junction close to Anthony bus stop along Ikorodu road.
