R&B singer Bobby Brown has said that he still experiences recurrent dreams in which his deceased children, Bobby Brown Jr. and Bobbi Kristina Brown, are there.
The Grammy-winning musician, who was also a founding member of the R&B group “New Edition”, revealed that he had nightmares in which his son Bobby Brown Jr., who died in 2020, and daughter Bobbi Kristina, who died in 2015, visit him. He claims that while he is asleep, he maintains the connection he had with his departed children.
“I tend to dream about both of ’em, my son and my daughter, which is helpful for me. Just being able to see their faces and I see ’em smiling, it helps me out in a big way,” he told People.
The father of five surviving children, Bobby Brown, revealed that he routinely sees a therapist in order to receive assistance throughout his continuous sadness over the deaths of his children.
“Just being able to talk about it definitely helps out. Also, prayer always works. And staying busy. I try to keep myself as busy as possible, doing different things.”
Following his recent hosting of the yearly “Bobbi Kristina Serenity House Gala: A Night of Inspiration, Empowerment, and Hope,” Bobby Brown made his announcement.
The purpose of the event is to raise money for domestic abuse centres in honour of his late daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, whom he shared with the late Whitney Houston.
“It meant everything to me to see all the faces and see all the supporters that care about what we care about because it’s getting rough out there for a lot of different people, and it’s just good to have support, to help try to eradicate domestic violence,” he said, describing the evening as “beautiful” and “inspiring.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in the bathtub at her home, which she shared with her ex-partner Nick Gordon, in January 2015.
She died at the age of 22 from lobar pneumonia, after almost six months in a coma; sources suggested that drug addiction and drowning combined to cause her death.
Her death was eerily identical to that of her mother Whitney Houston, who was discovered unconscious in a bathtub in a Beverly Hills hotel in February 2012, among other drugs, according to several accounts.
In 2020, Bobby Brown Jr., his son, passed away at the age of 28 from an unintentional drug overdose.
On His Friendship bond with Mike Tyson
Bobby Brown recently talked about his friendship with Mike Tyson and how it deepened after their tragically deceased children. The Grammy-winning musician, 55, talked on March 4 about how he met the famed boxer during a charity event he arranged to honour his daughter who passed away, and how they became friends. PEOPLE reported.
“We go way back,” Brown said about Tyson during the event. “When he first started fighting and I first went solo we did a lot of hanging out together.” The 57-year-old former world heavyweight champion attended the event.
Exodus, Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter, died in 2009 after becoming unintentionally wrapped in a cord. Regarding Tyson, Brown remarked, “His support is great.” “Having him as a friend means everything to me because he too lost a child, and having someone else to talk to to get through it is really helpful.”
The singer of New Edition stated that they make an effort to avoid discussing their defeats in talks. “We make an effort to avoid it,” Brown remarked. “We try to keep each other on solid ground, but it’s always in the forefront.”
In another section of the conversation, Brown discussed Tyson’s impending bout with Jake Paul and expressed his support for his friend. Brown remarked, “He’s really looking forward to it.”
“I’m going to be there front and center, making sure that he does what he plans on doing. He’s going to hurt that boy. Mike’s in great shape. I don’t think that boy realizes who he actually signed a contract with.”
