[Video] The Brazilian Carnival Queen Deemed ‘Too Black’

Well, we all love Brazil in so many ways like their Carnivals, Samba, and the exotic beaches – but few people are aware of the entrenched racism that Blacks or Afro-Brazilians have to deal with in everyday their lives. Nayara Justino thought her dreams had come true when she was selected as the Globeleza carnival queen in 2013. But some (majority) in Brazil regarded her complexion to be too dark to be an acceptable queen. At the end of it all she caved in to the pressures like most blacks do in Brazil by getting engaged to a white guy in order to be look acceptable, sad and pathetic. Watch her story below
