3 Dead As Navy Clashed With Police In Cross River

Its another battle of uniform men as officers and men of the Nigerian Navy clashed with their police counterpart in Calabar, Cross River State.

Three police officers were said to have died when the naval officers stormed a a police division in Calabar. The battle between the two lasted for over 2 hours. It started at about 8.30 pm and was still ongoing few minutes to 11pm on Tuesday.

According to reports on Channels TV, a misunderstanding happened at a check point opposite the Navy barracks in Akim area of the town after a policeman stopped a naval officer at Akim police check point but allegedly refused to stop, leading to a shootout. The Navy reportedly mobilized later in the evening and set the police station ablaze.
