In 2020, the size of the worldwide animation market was estimated to be US$ 354.7 billion. African content has seen a surge in interest and funding since the Black Panther comic book was turned into a movie, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

No matter what age, watching animation is always interesting. Today’s world, which has given a lot of its productions to it, allows for the possibility of seeing animation on a daily basis.

Iranian animations have dominated this festival’s market for a number of years, and the country’s animation industry has prospered. However, a lot of people think that its supply still has flaws.

Naturally, an engaging story and the animators’ inventiveness are also crucial in the creation of animations, as is shown in Iranian animations.

One of the best animated films in Iran was produced by Dr. Alireza Mohammadinigjeh, an Abuja-based producer, scriptwriter, and media consultant. The movie is called “Mina va Doustan.”

He discussed the use of animation to deepen cultural and creative collaboration between Iran and Nigeria.

Multimedia animation is absolutely vital for today’s corporate promotion. When creating fantastic explainer videos for your business, it will be much easier and simpler to construct your plot and characters with the aid of animation.

Storytellers may now convey stories in original ways thanks to animation. No matter your age, the visceral magical worlds in animated films may rekindle your imagination and the charm of stories.

“So if you’re a storyteller, or want to be, animation is a great place to start,” he said.

“In traditional animation, pictures are drawn or painted on transparent celluloid sheets to be photographed. Early cartoons are examples of this, but today, most animated movies are made with computer-generated imagery, CGI.

“To create the appearance of smooth motion from these drawn, painted, or computer-generated images, frame rate, or the number of consecutive images that are displayed each second, is considered.

“Many researchers have considered the date of the burnt city to be the same as the Bronze Age and the same period as Jiroft civilisation. This ancient site is located in the south of Sistan and Baluchistan.

“The most important work of art discovered from the ancient site of Burnt City is a clay jar with the world’s first “moving picture” or “animation” on it.

“On the body of this cup, a goat is depicted in five different positions, each of which is a continuation of the previous one. In the first picture, the goat is standing in front of the tree, and in the next four pictures, it moves towards it and feeds from this tree.

“This is the first animation in the world. Related to Iranian civilisation,’’ the consultant said.

Animators and cartoonists are battling to establish themselves in Nollywood, which is the second-largest film industry in the world, according to Mohammadinigjeh.

Many Nigerian animators are making local production and animated short films to carve out a niche for themselves despite the lack of formal training possibilities in the animation industry.

Pan-African British entertainment business outfit, Kugali Media and Walt Disney Animation Studios are planning to debut ‘Iwájú’,” which has been dubbed as Nigeria’s first animated series, soon.

Its futuristic setting and issues of injustice, class disparity, and coming-of-age will be explored.

“Studio executives and streaming services are taking a critical look, even though they are not doing a lot to change the situation.

“A lot of animation professionals have to go outside our borders to experience real value conversion. Animation takes longer and is more expensive.

“With more partnerships and investment, Nigerian animation will improve significantly,” he said.

According to PR Newswire, the total value of the global animation industry was projected to reach $270 billion by 2020. The streaming market for animation content peaked at $ 2.9 billion in 2018 and is experiencing growth at an annual rate of 8 percent.
