The much awaited Davido comeback concert, which took place on Sunday night at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), lived up to its billing.

For his fans, who had been yearning for some live performances and new music from their favourite artist who had been off the radar for five months, it was an incredible experience.

For the musical event, Davido and his team built what would pass for one of the largest stages in Africa during the concert. One of Nigeria’s famous buildings, the National Theatre, was replicated on the stage.

The Afrobeats icon played songs from both his album and his enormous hit catalogue. Other Nigerian artists, such as Mayokun, Asake, Iyanya, and Spyro, to name a few, were on display during the night.

British rapper Tion Wayne, one of the night’s standout performers, also joined. As usual, the show was jam-packed with stunning and exhilarating moments that had the audience cheering loudly.

Newly-elected Osun state governor and Davido’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke, attended the occasion to support his nephew. The well-known dancing Senator was accompanied by his assistants when he was hailed by ‘our governor’ chanting fans who identified themselves as being from the Osun state.

The moment YBNL star Asake rushed on stage to join Davido as he was singing “No Competition” off the Timeless album was undoubtedly the highlight of the night.

The event was hosted by media personality and actress Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, also known as Kie Kie, and comic actor and activist Debo Adebowale, also known as Mr. Macaroni. They both put on a show as they stepped up to uplift the audience in a dancing frenzy while performing their dynamic dance moves to “Buga.”

Other performances during the night includes: Ecool, Spyro, Softmadeit, Odumodu Black, Sina Rambo, Iyanya and Khaid.
