The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Advises Pilgrims to Pay Through Jaiz Bank has advised intending pilgrims to pay their animal sacrifice money through Jaiz Bank Plc as the only agent appointed by the commission in Nigeria for collection.

Chairman of the commission, Malam Abdullahi Mohammed, said this in Abuja yesterday when the management team of Jaiz Bank paid him a courtesy visit. Mohammed said intending pilgrims have the assurance that their sacrifice in the Holy land will be done when they pay through Jaiz Bank. He said: “We will educate pilgrims on why they need to pay through Jaiz Bank to ensure that the sacrifice is done and the right animal is used.”

Mohammed said Jaiz Bank’s appointment as the collection agent was done from a sincere intention, even though some elements who used to defraud pilgrims in the past may want to kick back. He said: “We are determined and will remain focused to succeed. Your appointment is to correct these past mistakes. We know that to get acceptable Hajj, everything must be done in a way that is acceptable by Sharia.”

Jaiz Bank’s Executive Director, Business Development, Mahe Abubakar, who led the bank’s team, said the bank had already contacted all the Pilgrim Boards across the country and they have shown their cooperation.
