The Electoral body has accepted the ruling of its appeal body which nullified the September 30 election that brought in Amaju Pinnick as NFF President

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Electoral committee on Friday said it has accepted the full report of the appeals committee over the annulled September 30 election on Thursday in Abuja.

Chairman of the NFF electoral committee Samson Ebomhe said his committee has received the detailed ruling of Barrister Okechukwu Ajunwa’s appeal body. Goal earlier reported that Ajunwa’s appeals committee nullified elections in four positions of the NFF executive board and the bye-election scheduled for December 11.

“We have received the report of the appeals committee and as I talk to you I am presently studying the rulings,” Ebomhe said on Hot FM in Abuja. “I have sent the copies to my committee members across the country and they should be studying it too. We will have to meet and take the next line of action.

He also said his committee will decide in due time the scheduled bye-election into the vacated the positions of the President and Vice President, South-east and North-west positions of the NFF.

The electoral body said they will take necessary steps in compliance with the verdict when his committee is done with studying of the report. “We would abide by the verdict of the appeals committee as properly constituted. “Nothing is cast in stone. If we envisage that seven days would not be enough we will get back to the appeals committee and seek for more time.” “We will abide by the verdict of the Ajunwa’s Electoral Appeals’ Committee as properly constituted. What we need to do is first of all to quickly study the verdict as given.”

The body also insisted that all cleared candidates willing to re-contest must withdraw their legal matters in court and at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in order to participate in the rescheduled election.
