President Muhammadu Buhari during his maiden presidential chat last night has revealed that his government might ban the wearing of the hijab by Muslim women.

The president said the ban might be necessary if Boko Haram continues use women and young girls wearing hijab as suicide bomber. “Hijab would have to be banned if suicide bombing continues,” noted  Buhari.

Hijab is a veil that covers the head and chest, which is particularly worn by some Muslim woman beyond the age of puberty in the presence of adult males outside of their immediate family and, according to some interpretations, in the presence of adult non-Muslim females outside of their immediate family.
