Nigerian-American Rapper Wale Visits Nigeria For The First Time

0

The documentary titled Wale: I Am From (Mo Wa Lati), showed Wale (Olubowale Victor Akintimehin), reconnecting with his Nigerian roots, collaborating with Mavin Records top gun and producer Don Jazzy and concludes with the rapper meeting his grandfather and extended family. It’s a fascinating look at Wale (who is, for several reasons, quite different from the average American rap star in terms of his mindset and interests) as well as an examination of what it’s like to grow up apart from your heritage, and then to reconnect with that heritage as an adult.
