Tjoe group is proud to present the first ever ORIENT-ATION, an exclusive igbo award event. It’s been observed, that in the busy lives of igbo people, they have forgotten to pay attention to several things, that are important to their lives, and their families. In the chaotic bustle of their daily lives, they forget to celebrate the roles, played by their cultural heritage in their daily achievements.
Igbos are one of the largest ethnic groups in Africa. They possess a richly unique, culture that commands, fascinating attention attention from other tribes in Nigeria. They also possess a a very rare survival instinct, laced with individual brilliance, talents, and flexible efforts, towards economic gains. The igbo language also give them a unique ethnic identity- a language spoken around the world, but largely in Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Delta and Rivers states of Nigeria. Of the three key languages in the country, igbo language is threatened by extinction, according to UNESCO report on endangered indigenous languages. It states that, the igbo language faces the risk of possible extinction, in the next 50years, if nothing is done to revive the language. A lot of igbo families fail to engage their children to speak ibo, perhaps an overzealous effort in achieving excellence in academic english.
Change orientation – from being dubious as ibos, to achievers orientation, which is exclusively an award event to hard working igbo personalities. It is dignity personified, an orientation towards, igbo dying culture and tradition. It’s a forum, to award, outstanding personalities through hard work, with the hope of transforming the world.
Commerce has been major igbo contributions, but, Tjoe group has decide to put together, a talk shop, a boot camp segment, where each person talk about his\her own bit. For example: international politics- Emeka Anyaouku. Movie: Pete Edochie. Footballing: Jayjay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo. Music marketing: TjOE who championed Psquare&Style plus, etc.
This event, as being organized by TJOE group is poised to also exhibit, seminar, concert, Igbo kiddies poetry contest and cultural display. Igbo language will be mixed with english language, combined with igbo language. But, majorly, in engish language, so as to communicate effectively. There will be a pre – event concert, on the eve of the award ceremony, while there will be an after party on the award day.
