Police Arrest Two Members Of Boko Haram

The number of Boko Haram terrorists tormenting the people of northeast Nigeria has been reduced by two with the arrest of two members of the notorious sect who were declared wanted by the security agencies.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Damian Chukwu, made the announcement to journalists yesterday in Maiduguri while parading suspected criminals apprehended by his personnel in various operations. He said the suspects were nabbed between June and July at Ngomari airport area, Maiduguri and Nasarawa village of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano state following intelligence report.

The CP disclosed the names of the suspected terrorists as Umar Abatcha of Muna Garage of Jere LGA and Alhaji Mallam Mohammed of Mainok town, Kaga LGA respectively.

“They have voluntarily confessed to be members of the terrorists group and narrated some of the atrocities committed. As soon as preliminary investigation is concluded, the suspects would be handed over to the Nigerian Army for discreet investigation,” CP Chukwu said.
