Racism, Rooted In Our Psyche

0
What we all seem to have forgotten, is the fact that racism is embedded in the psyche and it’s generational. Even the persons who suffered from it has the mindset of the expectation of the suffering.
We might coat or colour in whatever pleases our whims, caprices, and fancies, the black always see themselves as inferior or better still lesser and second to the white. The malaise which has afflicted the blacks for generations is not something that will be legislated away or accomplished by force or violence. It’s mental, we are taught about slavery from childhood, movies, books, and monuments glorifying slavery are abounding everywhere and all these are done from the perspective of the whites. Even the ending of slavery is a story told as a triumph for the whites. The freedom of the blacks was a result of the kindness and magnanimity of the whites.
A cursory look at the performance of African leaders or blacks on the international stage clearly shows total submissiveness or dependency on the white. The sole path to liberation and emancipation of the blacks is through economic advancement that dovetails with scientific, technological, and religious independence. We look up to the whites’ God, we look up to the whites’ scientific innovation, we wait on the whites for technological direction. Without whites, we are in the dark groping for direction and grasping on furlough hope. For the blacks, white is redemption. The whites wrote and doctored our history in such a way that purely served a single purpose – white supremacy! And that’s the story passed on for generations.
Black is evil and bad while white is angelic, divine, and good. This belief is ingrained in our heads. All of us blacks who are age 10 and above are suffering from the mental depression and suppression of whiteness superiority. We so much craved the approval and endorsement of the whites, without it, our feelings of accomplishment remains a mirage. We cast out the dark angel and welcome with a full embrace, the white angel that’s how our mind functions perpetually.
Look in the mirror, tell me if what I’m saying is not true. Millions of us are toiling in a reminiscence of the slavery era in Europe, the US, and other white countries to make a living and bring our dreams to fruition. Many are perishing daily on the Atlantic in a bid to cross to the other side. Talk all your talks, protest as you like, racism will not fly away. Forget the political gimmicks and rhetoric, white will be white and black will be black. In between, is mere window dressing.
