Cedella Marley, Bob Marley’s daughter, shared her thoughts on the album’s relevance by saying, “Africa Unite’ showcases the importance of Bob Marley in modern-day Africa. The artists on this album have re-imagined his classics in a way we know he would have loved and been proud of.” The CD honours the rich tapestry of African rhythms and melodies and is evidence of Bob Marley’s music’s ongoing influence on listeners around the world.

The fourth official single from the album, ‘Them Belly Full (But We Hungry),’ with Rema and Skip Marley, was unveiled a day before the album’s release. The mellow saxophone melodies on this mid-tempo composition capture both cadence and powerful metaphors. The song addresses concerns of inequity and exhorts listeners to find comfort and escape in music.

When asked about replicating his grandfather’s hit, Skip Marley, recognised for topping the Billboard charts and inspiring a generation, said, “When I first heard the final version of ‘Them Belly Full’ featuring Rema, I was ecstatic! Working alongside any African artist is ecstatic for me, because that’s what it’s really about: Africa. I was very grateful for the opportunity.”
