Woman Gets Breast Reduction From ’36NNN’ To Double-D

1

A woman who had 36NNN-sized breasts has undergone surgery to reduce the burden on her chest and back by taking them down to a healthier DD-cup.

Texas woman Kerisha Marks used to experience neck and back pain from her swollen breasts she estimated weighed around 7kg each. At times the large breasts would make the 40-year-old feel like she was having a heart attack or cause migraines that afflicted her for days. “I could not run or jump or work out at all,” she told the Washington Post. “I was very limited in a lot of things I could do. I mean, you can’t find a sports bra that size anyway.”

Ms Marks said she had always had large breasts, but in her 30s they began to swell — brought on by a rare hormonal condition known as gigantomastia. Ms Marks decided to get her breasts reduced by Franklin Rose, a Houston plastic surgeon with 35 years’ experience, but even he was surprised about the size of breasts. “When we went into the exam room — I don’t know if I would use this word ‘shocking,’ but it was certainly startling to see breasts of that magnitude,” Dr Rose told the newspaper.

The surgeon said the challenge was not removing the breast tissue, but leaving enough behind to make a “pretty breast”. “We left her with a nice full DD that she was very happy with.” Without the breast reduction, the Texan ran the risk of developing a “hunchback”, a forward curving of the spine in a condition known as kyphosis. But with the dramatic reduction in breast tissue, Ms Marks has dropped a further 5kg in the weeks following the October surgery.

And she’s happily shopped for a whole new wardrobe. “Getting my breasts reduced was like a divorce,” she said. “And like a bad relationship, you don’t always realize how bad things were until it’s over.”
